About

Artsmiths Design

In 1996 Kathryn Pinto May launched the design firm, Artsmiths Interiors in her hometown Montego Bay, Jamaica. Kathryn was educated in Kingston Jamaica and New York City.  Her years working with both Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein created an appreciation for detail and subtlety that continues to inform the principles of Artsmiths design style.

An early client was the new Margaritaville Caribbean. Artsmiths was integral to the development of the Island Entertainment Brand’s massive expansion throughout the Caribbean. Other notable projects include the redevelopment of world famous Doctor’s Cave Bathing Club in conjunction with architect Clifton Yap and the total rebuilding of Rick’s Café in Negril.

In 2010 the firm was contracted to develop a new concept for track legend Usain Bolt. The result is Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records, a dynamic restaurant, bar, retail and entertainment complex that capitalizes on brand Jamaica in two areas where the nation excels – music and sports. Artsmiths is currently involved in the development of franchising the concept internationally.

Artsmiths Interiors has developed a reputation for creating spaces with modern Caribbean style. The creative team provides an aesthetic that is fresh yet timeless and international while retaining a deeply rooted Jamaican sensibility. The resulting projects represent what is quintessential to the tropics with elements of sophistication.

Artsmiths continues to provide services to a diverse clientele including hotels and villas, restaurants, business and retail establishments, private home owners and architects.
